S M A R T Goal
Setting
Dreams/hopes/wishes are great but they are not goals. Goals
are:
Specific
(IF YOU CAN’T NAME IT—YOU CAN’T CLAIM IT!)
Measurable
(“I’ll be a better person” is not measurable)
Attainable/Realistic
(but not too easy or wimpy)
Relevant/Important/Rewarding
(TO YOU!)
Time
Bound (“I’ll accomplish my goal by this date”)
If you
want to achieve your goal you must:
At first,
set 3 goals Max! Prioritize your goals.
Have 1 whatever-it-takes-goal and accomplish
it!
Write your goals down. Rewrite your goals every month.
Place your goals where you and others will see them
everyday.
Find people to support you and hold you accountable.
Be patient. Be persistent. Be optimistic!
If you have faith, if you are hopeful, you will act!
Be willing to admit when you are kidding yourself.
Be willing to stretch. Set one important stretch
goal
Be willing to be very uncomfortable for at least six weeks.
Remember:
Break
your goals down into mini-goals—small, specific, measurable
tasks. How do you eat an elephant
