New and gently worn clothing is distributed to the homeless and low-income households in the Dallas area through the Clothing Distribution Service at Crossroads Community Services. This service provides clothing for homeless and low-income persons as well as persons needing emergency assistance due to by fire, flood, tornado, or other natural disasters.
Over 400 households and over 250 homeless women and men are served from the Clothing Distribution Service each month.
All contributions---both financial and product donations---are eligible charitable contributions under IRS tax guidelines.
LOCATION: 1822 Young Street, 2nd Floor of the building commonly known as the Stewpot, Dallas, TX 75201
Between Harwood and St. Paul, 2 blocks east of Dallas City Hall

LIMITATIONS: One visit per month.

- Men's, Women's, and Children's clothing of all types
- Especially needed are: winter jackets, pants, jeans, shoes, and NEW underwear and socks.
- Disposable baby diapers (Newborn - size 4)
- Rain ponchos
- Blankets
- Backpacks, tote bags, and duffle bags
- Travel-size hygiene Items: disposable razors, combs, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, wash cloths, deodorant
- Financial contributions to purchase toiletry items & underwear
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Volunteer with the Clothing Distribution Service
- Sort and size incoming clothing items
- Help clients select clothing
- Contact manufacturers and stores for donations
Hold a special clothing drive at your school, church, company, or organization
- Organize a "Diaper Drop Box" to collect disposable diapers
- Organize an "Undie 500" to collect new underwear and socks for men, women, and children of all sizes
- Organize a “Sock Hop”: when celebrating birthdays and holidays, have each guest bring a package of socks and/or underwear in place of a gift or as their “cover charge” to the party.
- Organize a blanket drive "Operation Warm Bodies"
- If your school or church has a “garage sale” arrange to have the left over clothing delivered to Crossroads Community Services
- Scouts can organize a socks and underwear or winter coat or backpack drive
