Crossroads Community Services (CCS)
Financial Assistance Requirements
If you meet all of the requirements below, we encourage you to call Crossroads Community Services at 214-560-2511 Monday thru Thursday starting at 8:30 AM for a financial assessment. Many people call every day hoping to receive financial assistance. So, you may get a busy signal or get a recorded message. If you do, HANG UP & DIAL AGAIN because you cannot make an appointment by dialing an extension or pressing ‘0’. MAKING AN APPOINTMENT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL automatically RECEIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. We invite you to contact other agencies as well. To reach the Statewide Social Services referral-line, at the end of this message, hang-up and dial 211 as you would 411 for directory assistance.
We only pay the following Past Due bills: your mortgage, rent, electric, gas or water provided you are about to be evicted or your utilities are about to be terminated. We only make our payment after you get your total balance down to the amount that we agreed to pay—when you do your part, we do our part. We do not assist with both rent and utilities for a single household. Financial assistance is available only one time in a 12-month period.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A FINANCIAL ASSESSMENT – You must:
q Live in the City of Dallas, not Dallas County. (Zip codes beginning with 752___).
q Provide written proof that right now your household has enough money coming in every month to pay ALL reasonable living expenses AND the reason you cannot pay your bills is because of some event like a car repair, funeral or medical expense or you experienced an interruption of benefits, support, or a period of unemployment. If at this time you are not earning or receiving enough money to cover all of your reasonable annual living expenses, please do not set an appointment as you will not receive help.
q Agree to attend a Goals & Budget Management Workshop.
q Bring the following documentation to your financial assessment appointment:
1. Valid Picture ID for all persons coming to receive benefits from CCS.
2. Social Security cards, birth certificates, or documentation from a city, state, or federal government agency verifying everyone living in your household.
3. If employed, 1 month of current pay-stubs or 3 months if your income fluctuates.
4. If you are paid in cash, only a notarized Employment Verification Form will be conditionally accepted as proof of income but may not be approved.

6. If receiving Child Support, a printout showing the last 6 months payment history.
7. Current copies of your electric, gas, water, phone, cable bills, etc.
