Food Distribution Service

The Food Distribution Service of Crossroads Community Services serves low-income persons who have their own residence that live in the city of Dallas or anyone who has experienced a catastrophic loss due to fire, flood, theft, etc. Nutritional food is distributed to low-income households in the Dallas area through the Food Distribution Service at Crossroads Community Services. We are 5th largest distributor for the North Texas Food Bank

Over 500 households--representing over 1200 men, women, and children--are served from our Food Distribution Service each month.

The Food Distribution Service operates under the non-profit status granted to First United Methodist Church of Dallas, TX. All contributions---both financial and product donations---are eligible charitable contributions under IRS tax guidelines.

LOCATION: 1822 Young Street, 2nd Floor of the building commonly known as the Stewpot, Dallas, TX 75201
Between Harwood and St. Paul, 2 blocks east of Dallas City Hall

HOURS OF OPERATION: 8:30am - 11:30am, Mondays – Thursdays
It is imperative that you arrive early in order to receive food because we can only serve 35 households per day

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Click Here (en español: Requisitos para Comida y Ropa)

LIMITATIONS: One visit per month. We encourage people to find a ride as people can only carry so many groceries on the bus

Approximately 500 households are served from the Food Distribution Service each month.

Because we buy in bulk at greatly reduced prices, cash contributions are the most cost efficient donations.  For example, we purchase food items from the North Texas Food Bank at $.14 per pound.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE FOOD DISTRIBUTION SERVICE:

Sort & shelve incoming food products
Fill daily client requests for food
